Board of Selectmen Meeting Minutes
August 4, 2010

1. CALL TO ORDER: The regular meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM.
Hal Ferguson, Chairman; Rick Micklon and Lenny Adler were present.  

2. SALUTE TO THE FLAG:   Audience and Board members saluted the flag.

3. ACTION ON MINUTES:
A.To see if the Board will vote to approve the minutes of the July 26th regular board meeting HF/LA- Unanimous

4. SELECTMEN’S ITEMS DISCUSSED & VOTED ON:
A. Jeff Stern presented the board with a draft letter of Agreement between TLEA and the Town for the Grant work. The board approved this letter and signed.
Rick Micklon asked Richard Bean Sr. to put up a barricade of sorts at the steep drop off pavement on Cobb Hill. Richard said he would look at the area.    

B. Motion by Lenny Adler/2nd by Hal in favor of reappointing Kemsen Bourque to the Scholarship committee for a 5 year term to expire in 2015.

C. Motion by LA/RM to sign 4th and Final 10 year extensions for Heniger Park Lots 19B- Martin; 17B -Lambert; and 1&2B -Merritt  -Unanimous

D. Discussed the Schoonmaker tax acquired property, Board wants to put it out for sale- minimum bid $25,000. Bids will be opened on 9/1 at 7:15pm motion by LA/HF-Unanimous

E. Hal signed the Maine Survey Consultants proposal for the next part of land survey.

F. Jeff Twitchell met with Rick to view under the annex to start the process to remove the radon. Found an old culvert and old lumber under floor. This needs to be removed before any work may begin. They spoke about enlarging the windows to remove the junk. The 2 year old price is still effective for this years work.
     
G. Hal reported that he spoke with Brad Plante, Harrison Town Manger, concerning the Scribner's Mills Bridge. He said the state will inspect the bridge in the fall and give the report to both towns. The vehicle totals per day was 70 vehicles.

H. Motion to sign Warrant # 2 to pay the towns bills. LA/HF – Unanimous

I. Lenny contacted MMA to see if the Law had changed with towns plowing private roads. No winter road maintenance on private roads is allowed. (If emergency vehicles need to get in then it may be opened to let the vehicles pass.)

5. ADJOURNMENT With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:40PM. RM/LA – Unanimous
